PR and medical coverage

Discussion in 'Settlement Issues' started by thind26, Sep 23, 2019.

  1. Hello,

I am on work permit in Canada & i'm a patient of Hemophilia A(Bleeding Disorder). My insurance is ready to pay for my medical coverage. But will this be an obstacle for PR? Kindly help me with this

  2. In my opinion both are unrelated. However let's see what others say. Hope you get well soon.

  3. It depends. If severe and you receive regular treatments, you will likely be medically inadmissible for PR.

  4. It's quite possible it might be. How often do you take treatments and which product do you use? Do you use something like Humate / Hemate P?

Products to treat Hemophilia tend to be very expensive. Generally they have to be obtained directly from hospitals and are covered by the provincial health care system.

  5. Your Hemophilia A status should have been declared during your student permit and/or work permit application. Did you get a PFL at that time?
