PR activation

Hi All,

I got my PR approved and immigrant visas were issued this month. I am planning to land in Canada sometime in July. My close relatives are U.S Citizens.
My question is can I land in Canada and go to U.S for a short while and from there may be search for jobs in Canada.
Is this possible? If so, should I take a tourist visa to go to U.S or is my passport with the PR stamp enough to enter U.S?

Any suggestions or advice is welcome.

1. As long as you meet the residency requirements of 2 years in every 5 your plan is fine.
2. You need a US visitor visa.

PMM already answered your question.
I will add one more thing. If you plan to take US visa after landing from canada, they may not approve your visit visa. The US consulate will ask why you did not apply from your home country. I had the same situation and my application was rejected. The US consulate asked me to wait for one year and try (?!!!). Therefore, I suggest to apply for a US visit visa at your country, before leaving, which will be better.
