Once a passport request has been made, usually how much time do we have to submit. For example if I received a request and in few days I am going for my 1 month vacation so under such circumstsnces can CIC wait?

You are usually given 30 days from the date of PPR to submit your passport. Processing time will vary depending on the visa office you sent it to.
