Hi guys!

We just applied for our PR on June 11th, 2017
i was expecting our proceed to complete by the end of this year. if all goes well we were planing to move by Feb 18 or March 18! but our PPR came thru early - in July and we may get our COPR soon.

i am just wondering, would it be ok to complete the landing procedures by Oct 17 stay there for some 20 - 30 days, come back and the windup thing and move slowly by Mar 18 or April 18.

Our city given in the application is Toronto.

What all do i need to Expect

Yup. No problem.

Get your SIN from service Canada when you arrive. Don't forget to fill out the BSF 187 (B4) form and mark anything you plan to bring later as goods to follow (save paying tax later if you don't declare them).

You PR card would take nearly two months. So, you might have to make arrangements for receiving the card and getting hold of it. To travel back to Canada one needs the PR card in addition to passport.

Other ways of going to Canada without the PR card would be
- apply for PR travel document once you are back to your home country
- travel by road to Canada. This, however requires that you have a US Visa.

thank you guys for the reply.

i hope to do all the necessary and then leave Canada. i hope one month would be enough for me to apply everywhere i need to. i.e. bank accounts, SIN etc. OHIP is probably not possible quickly and the driving license is a probability. (these are my targets and possibility i thing i need to do when i reach Canada)

i do have a US visitors visa. will it be ok to travel by road (i will keep this as an option)
i hope to get the PR card mailed back to me by a relative in Canada.

You can't apply for OHIP until you actually move to Canada.

It is fine to enter at the land border as long as you travel in a private car or on foot.
