posted application paranoia!!!!!

HEY!

I sent off my application for PR yesterday (spouse/commonlaw in canada) FINALLY!!!!

SO HAPPY!

But woke up this morning, freaking out that I might've forgotton things "did i attach my payment receipt?" etc

sure everything is fine, just wondered if anyone else freaked out aswell?!?!

Will Vegreville Case processing Centre bother to tell me when they receive the apllication if i have infact forgotton something?? or will they look at it in like 11 months (current time on 1st stage approval) and just send it back.........?!?!

We haven't sent ours yet (but we will, in November or December 2012), so we haven't freaked out yet, lol!!

I'm not sure about how CPC Vegreville works, but RCVmini sent his application to CPC Mississauga, and as you can read under his username:

he sent his application on 3 May, and got his package returned on 24 May (the VO mistakenly thought that RCVmini missed some forms, although in fact he did submit them). So in fact it only took 3 weeks, not 11 months .

BUT...!! Of course I hope it won't happen to you!!

oh yes...I stressed for weeks that I forgot something or I should have done this or that......I went over and over my application again and again...LOL.....I think it is just the fact that you are so relieved it is done and sent and then the worry sets in because there is nothing else to occupy your mind.....LOL....don't worry that will end shortly and then the worry of when am I getting my approval sets in!!!! ;D

^ Yep...that's what happened with me. My wife was as cool as a cucumber throughout...but I was constantly worried...still am...will always be...even when I'm dead...because then I know for sure there is nothing I can do except scare the hell out of people...and that will only satisfy me for so long...

The sad thing for me was that I didn't stress out once I got the notification from Fedex that it had been delivered.... that is until the whole dang thing got sent back because my husband missed signing two forms (and stacked the files all back up after I had shown him everywhere I needed him to sign saying he had done it all) then I was stressed out big time and spent the whole weekend making sure EVERY t was crossed and i was dotted... I even went post-it crazy and did full tabs with form names and numbers on everything including sending the un-signed forms with their own post-its just because they had the receiving date stamped on them. Now that we have at least stage one approval I'm not so stressed out about the forms because I know for sure for sure that everything is filled out and signed and dated and all in black ink and out of my hands... the fact that it is in CIC's hands is where the stress is for me.... well on top of the fact that I have three kids 5 and under and have a major move to plan at some point in the future and a house and family to run... you know all the "normal" stuff just with this great big bubble of CIC that is just always in the background.

There are many stages of paranoia and self doubt through this entire process! I find the occasional frosty beverage helps, as well as a big slice of apple pie with extra old cheddar cheese on the side! During one of my paranoia stages, I had this weird dream that at the interview, the VO simply rolled a dice oh her desk to see if we would get approved or not!

hahah! thanks guys! glad to know i'm not the only one, makes me feel better. Also, good to know that it will be sent back sooner rather than later if i have forgotton something.

Freaked out when I found out that I had sent it Fedex to the PO Box address instead of the physical address. But felt better once we received the signed by so-and-so that came with the delivered tracking email. But now I have a stupid paranoia driven question? We typed and printed out all our forms in black ink with the barcodes and everything, but we signed our names in the signature spaces with blue ink. You think that matters?

What's wrong with sending the application to the PO Box address??

I thought that's what the CIC wants you to do anyway? Take a look:

As you can see, for spousal applications, we should send to the P.O. Box 3000, etc address.......

there is no problem.......either address is acceptable.........

You are suppose to use black but I don't think they will send back because signatures are in blue ink.......it's just that blue ink does not copy well so that is why they like black.....

don't worry....i forgot to put name on back of photos of my husband.......and I was so careful.........anyway do not worry about it.....if you did all the forms on the computer they will love the fact that they don't have to try and guess what letters you printed so the signature in blue ink should not matter too much...

I'm glad I read this thread before sending out app in, now I know to be even more extra careful with everything. We're both freaking out beyond ever before right now and cannot wait to get it out of our hands. But I know after about a week or so I'm going to start worrying and freaking out again. Ugh, this is such a stressful process, it's almost not even fair but I understand why it needs to be this way, we all have to suffer because some people don't like to follow rules =\
