I've tried searching the forum first, but it seems that my problem is a bit peculiar: What if questions 7. and 8. (education and work history) don't exactly... match?

More specifically:
I graduated high school in 05/2004, and enrolled in the Faculty of Law back home in Croatia in 07/2004. (And by the way, do I have to account for those two months in between? By putting down... 'summer break'? :)).
I was a full time student from 2004 to 09/2006, when I had to temporarily put school aside and go back home to help my parents, blah blah not really important, for all intents and purposes I was simply unemployed for a year.
Then in 09/2007 I went back as a part time student (that is the closest English term for it, anyway; I actually took all the classes but was also able to work full time). I stayed in law school for three more years, until 09/2010 when my then-boyfriend and now-husband and I decided we couldn't stand spending any more time apart, and getting a law degree in Croatia meant nothing in Canada anyway, so I dropped out one year short of graduating and moved to Montreal.

However, in 05/2008 I also started working full time, and that period overlaps with me still being in school... but that should be fairly simple - job happened last so I'll list it first, and if I add "part time student" in the comment box it should be obvious what happened. But :)

Now, I never actually completed my post secondary education, but:

a) I did successfully finish 3 years of university, so should I put that in the primary/secondary/university breakdown, and, subsequently, in the 'number of years of formal education' section?

b) Since a large portion of my time in the last 10 years is accounted for by studying, I feel like the name of the institution should show up somewhere even though there is no diploma. Or?

I'm just really anxious to get through this whole process as quickly as possible and without endless exchanges of additional documents and explanations with the CIC (as I'm sure we all are), so any kind of input is greatly appreciated.

Basically they want to be sure that you account for where you were living/working/studying for all months between now and when you were 18 years old - or for the past 10 years if you are younger than 28 years of age. I would list things chronologically - writing "unemployed" or "on holiday" with a location for any months when you weren't working or attending school. The most important thing is not to leave any time periods unaccounted for - things that overlap are not that big a deal. For example, just list the school and the employer both, chronologically by start date, and show the months as overlapping - like:

2007/09 - 2009/10 ABC Employer
2007/11 - 2008/06 DEF University

You don't have to designate full time or part time in either work or study.

when I put my application I have same problem , and I asked my lawyer what should I do, he said the best ability , meaning of what he said, to cover all things but do not leave any gap, if the date was not exactly he said it is ok, because really sometime it is hard to remember.
I hope this information would help you.
