Hey All

So when I left school in the Uk I went studied Automobile mechanics for a year and worked in the industry for 2 more, I just want to know if anyone else is losing points because you can't get it assessed through an ECA and can only have your secondary education assessed. I know you can challenge the certificate but will that prove you studied for a year for post secondary points?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as it is the difference between getting PR or not.

Thanks

Hi MightyMike,

did you ever get to the bottom of this? Im from the UK to and done a three year apprenticeship in Automobile Mechanics, is there nowhere to get an ECA?

The COQ is offered as an alternative to those who did not complete a post-secondary academic program. The only way to get points for a trades program / apprenticeship is to get the Canadian/Provincial/Territorial COQ, unfortunately.
