i guess it's always better to have too much information and pages than not enough?
anyone who posted their huge packages in this thread got aproved yet?
Our giant (640+ pages) application and 220 photos was approved in record time in Accra. Just under 2 months when their standard processing time is 10-22 months.

hahaha....I hope I won't forget to post pics of our application here when he's done.

Are these applications include from when my husband claimed the first time for refugee, then federal court, then PRRA, then H&C inland, then sponsorship outland?

We even discuss with my husband & our friends that when he will land, we will have a paper burning party right at the firepit he built in our backyard.

I'm with you on this one. I see cases of others who have sent in "smaller" packages, but I am sending in the maximum amount of evidence because as I see it, the deck is already stacked against us and we must present the best case possible, because I am from a Third World country and I am not going to battle just Immigration rules and regulations, I am going to be battling the prejudices of the IO as well. I do not say prejudices as in race/colour, but in the case where someone from a wealthy country sees someone from a poor country marry someone from their country, there is bound to be some suspicion of my motives. Add to that the fact that any number of immigrants from my own country have not "behaved" well in Canada, and I know I am up against a poor reputation as well! So...if it comes out weighing a tonne and I need a container to ship it to CPC-M, so be it! :p
You're damn right CharlieD10!

Lets see who's is the biggest! :D

Ours:

IA
Mine was even bigger than this, glad to see though that our file is not abnormal. We were wondering if ours was toooo big LOL!! We also spent many hours labelling, dividing and organizing things so it would be extremly easy for the officer to find their way through.

They need the proof, they need to be assured beyond a doubt of who they are approving to come into Canada. So if you give an enourmous amount of proof,it doesn't slow the file down, UNLESS you just throw everything in a box in a mass of chaos...then I imagine it might due to the IO having to try and sort and figure everything out. If its easy to flip through, more evidence in my opinion could only benefit the file!!

Wow- just saw this thread for the first time today. I'm glad I didn't see it before I sent out my application or I would have felt application envy as well lol!!
Sadly, I didn't take any picks with my application, but it was prbably only an inch, inch and a half thick tops.

Irishapplicant- seeing as that you are the original poster on this thread, with that whopping application of yours, I was wondering- have you been approved and already landed?

I wouldn't have any application envy....sending in alot of organized evidence is a good thing.

However...

Just because an application is big, doesn't mean it will answer all the IO's questions...you could send in alot and still miss some vital things that raise doubt in the mind of the IO.

You could send in a small, but well organized file with everything important that satisfies the IO beyond a doubt.

I think every case is unique to it's self!!! It depends on what needs to be proven, where your filing from and the prejudices that an IO may have against people who send in files from that country. Someone who marries a family friend she's known her whole life from the USA where her spouse already has a life/money/job/etc...might need less proof than say someone in my shoes who marries someone from a third world country where people are known to use marriage as a way to gain PR visas and gain a new life.

You just need to know you sent in everything you could to prove your relationship without a doubt to an IO!! If you did this and your application is still small, well lucky you!:D

As I'm getting ready to ship my own app pkg, I can't help but wonder how much evidence I'm going to end up sending anyways, but as most posters here have said, quality and a little bit more of what's required to convince the IO would probably do the trick, if not so much as giving the reviewer sufficient information to evaluate the case without needing to request additional documentation.

One question for the big-packers: what were your shipping costs when you sent your package?

It would be fun to build a chart that cross-links shipping costs, weight, page quantity, pictures quantity, photocopy costs, and the results obtained with all that!!

If not for its scientific value, at least it would give us something fun to ponder about.

Cheers.

Wow! I'm so glad our application wasn't any where near as big as photos posted! :D Ours still took time to put together, but fit in an envelope and was probably less than 20% of yours. Yet only took 95 days from sending to PPR with no requests for additional info. So obviously despite the lack of quantity, the quality was there haha ;D Phew!

Sorry but no photos...
Just want to remind everyone that we only had 11 photos of us together.
So a pretty small pack compared to what I've seen here....

and we were approved sponsorship/immigrant totally in 4 months start to finish.
