Dear everyone,

Would be grateful if someone could provide advice on the follow matters regarding my ITA granted on 20 Dec 2017:

1) About notarised documents
In the documents checklist, the cic did not ask for any documents to be notarised/certified. Does it mean that it is acceptable to simply upload colored scans of the original copies?

2) About police certificate from Hong Kong
I am aware that for applications from Hong Kong, I can only get a letter from cic requesting for a Police Cert AFTER I have submitted my e-application (as this is indicated clearly on the cic website). But I'm a bit worried about how this procedure fits the 90-day deadline. Does it mean that it is okay for me to submit my e-app even on the 90th day without the Police Cert (and upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate”, as stated on the cic website)? And CIC will still give me a letter requesting Police cert after my e-app submission on the 90th day and process my PR? Or do I need to submit my e-app much earlier to make room for CIC's police cert letter and the process of issuing police cert afterwards?

Below is the Policy Cert info from HK for your reference:

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate for Express Entry?
Yes, but only after you submit your application. When you apply for permanent residence, you will be asked to upload a police certificate. Instead, you must upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate.”

We will then review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we will send you more information on how to get a police certificate. Please read the instructions above for more information.

We will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.

MANY MANY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!

You can submit your e-APR whenever the 90 day deadline of your ITA is irrelevant in this case. The actual request will come during the processing of your application. In my case I received it after I passed the medical exam.
