I am waiting for an ITA. Is it necessary to change my status to visitor or do I have time to restore my status as a worker even if my work permit expires?

My permit expires this month and I do not think I will have an ITA by then. If I do get my ITA within 90 days of my work permit expiring, can I restore my status as a worker?
On the day your PGWP expires, you stop working if you don’t have an ITA. You are not eligible for a BOWP because you must have a valid working visa at the time of the ITA. As it states “have a valid work permit that expires in 4 months or less.”

Okay, thank you. I will stop working on the day my work permit expires. Is it possible for me to restore my status as a worker within 90 days after my permit expires if I get my ITA and my application for PR is completed?

No you can’t restore status unless you have a job offer and approved LMIA which will take months to process. Again you need to change status to visitor as you don’t want to be in the country illegally.
