Hey guys my first post on here !! I filed my app on April 8th well that's when it was recieved . I got an AOR ON JUNE 10th and said my File was forwarded to Port of Spain... I did an upfront medical and my status says application recieved ... What should I expect from Here on?? And to all the people that have done this already what is the time frame?? How much longer till I know if I need an interview or till it says in process ?? HELP I am so nervous

Hi Pmarshall1, welcome to the POS thread. Congratulations on AOR! you should have a file number and UCI #. That number allows you to chk Ecas. You should be able to log into Ecas by now ( by the way Ecas is where you chk application status.) To answer your questions, there is not much you can but wait. It can be nerve racking if you let it consume you. Find things to occupy your thoughts If you scan thru the thread you will see other members stories and time line. Everyone case is different and because of this, processing time differs. Good news is that the POS office is really buckling up their shoes on short processing time.

If you dont mind, can you share a bit more info abt your self and case like which country are you from, who is the sponsor, any red flags in the case, relationship background, etc...

P.s don't worry, this forum is a stress reliever

Ok so I'm sponsoring my husband from Grenada to Canada , we've been married a year now ! So far no red flags yet ! I'm from Grenada myself we went to the same high schools... I've known him almost all my life ... I've seen a lot of people said they sent in phone bills and stuff I did not include any of that in my application Hopefully they would request it so I can send it in ... I used a lawyer and he told me only send it in if they ask my case was presented strong enough in his eyes !! Any thoughts

So stressed - Sooo we got hubbys interview date! Aug 21st in TT. But they are asking for a whole list of things...is that normal? Also I think I read on here that we will get our answer as to if hubby got through after the interview...like on the same date or?

Good luck on your process !! Just have faith in God everything will be ok ... And from what I heard if they keep your passport that day then everything is Gud or sometimes they request it after ...

My husband was called in for an interview in January of this year. He was asked to bring all kinds of extra documents as well to mostly verify the genuineness of our relationship. The interview lasted about 45 minutes and we gave the documents in ahead of the interview.

At the end the officer said she did not have any reason to doubt our relationship despite age, cultural differences and made us wait while she printed off a letter requesting medical/police checks to be redone, passport request and PR fees. After we gathered all this info and sent it in about 1 1/2 months later my husband received his passport with the visa!

Yes, the list you have sounds identical to the one we were asked to provide documents for.
The officer asked many questions around me (sponsor) and my family like birthdates, where from, why he hasn't met them yet (refused visitor visa 3x - makes it hard to visit

The officer was trying to trick him in some ways by circling back on topics and asking again in a different form. My husband had been so worried about the interview and had studied hard for weeks in advance memorizing details of where I live in Canada, all my family details. The officer asked what would we do if he was denied - which I think is pretty common question; the only thing he didn't get right was my monthly pay amount...

Be well prepared I guess is my best advice, and calm as the officer may try to get you flustered.

Another question - How far is the airport from the high commission of canada where my husband is to do his interview? And also some suggestions on hotels near there?
