I wish he would be coming back home with us. I'm thinking he may come for Christmas or later... Praying for our daughters second birthday he will be here. It is killing him to miss all the special holidays. I was telling him how our daughter has been very clingy te last few days when I leave her (even with my mom). He was very quiet and just said she has a special connection with you and not me. I was lost for words. I know when he comes they will connect and when she sees him they are great but it still doesn't take away from the hurt and sadness he feels.

Awww my heart is aching for your hubby. I am sure she will be a daddy's little girl when you all reunite for good. This too shall pass I am sure of it.

MissD, our resident MD, all the best in your exams. I know you will do well.
Wow think about it, soon you will be called Dr MissD LOL

Thanks CdnandTrini,
How are you?

I pray that you are right about the fall months because our sanity is on the line here!

It's unusual to go this long without any news from POS. I mean, we all have to wait individually, but at least there was always someone hearing something, just some sign of life. I can totally get why everyone is so frustrated! Immigration is like pregnancy - it's not knowing that drives you crazy. I guess the silence is due to the strike, hopefully they clear that up soon. Just keep reminding yourselves that you're closer to the end than to the beginning. It will happen soon, it has to! I personally am looking forward to everyone's PPR and landing stories...want to see who can beat us for drama ;D

It is unusual indeed. I guess they are short staffed or something. I wonder if they know that they are putting our lives on complete hold!! Sometimes I imagine my IO as being young and single with not a care in the world.

wow alot of discussion here that is good, a place to vent i hope that spirit jump starts something for someone.

@DR.MISSD good luck on your exams and hurry back to us, you know misery loves company hahahah

@behopeful your family will be reunited soon and your baby will have so much time and birthdays with the father and yourll will spend a lifetime together cry your cries but be strong and behopeful.

everyone else we will not be the first and neither the last but there is always an end.

Prayers for the success of your exam Miss D. Another long journey you have been on with the end nearly in sight.

FAD & Behopeful, you are both being strong, great role models for your daughters. Besides the obsessing thing ;D.....JK (we have all done that)

To everyone else, especially the 2012 folks, keep the faith. I sense that there will be a lot of movement in the fall months. Summer all over the world slows things down due to vacations, particularly in gov't offices. Sept. to Dec. are generally the times that things pick up administratively. Blessings!

Thank you for your kind words CdnandTrini! Very thoughtful. How are you doing?
... And I do try not to use the iPhone/iPad around my daughter anymore to check my email/ ECAS. Just last week she had a complete meltdown because she saw me using the phone and she wanted it. She's discovered how to get the screen to come on and there is a picture of her there so she says baby, mine! She has also learnt to swipe her finger to get the password screen to come up. She very rarely gets to touch the phone bit I guess just a sign of the times we are living in.

hey quick question for last year applicant like @missd and other, when we applied last year the applicant processing time was 15 months and in 2013 it moved up to 19 month, is the 19 months applicable for the older applicant or is it for the newer applicant how are they gonna treat this, casue am moving to my 14 month on saturday, so let me know wat you all think. thank you

Not too sure of the answer to your exact question Millslu, but just wanted to mention that the 15 or 19 months is for stage 2 and not a combination of stage 1 and 2. Stage 2 is calculated from the stage 1 approval date. So for example with our file... Our file was sent to Mississaiga December 11. Stage 1 approval was January 11 so therefore that is when we start counting the 15- 19 months. Things may have changed but this wa my understanding from when I first read the website when I applied.

It's not quite so cut and dry. The 19 months is the time it took to finalize 80% of applications over the year preceding the update, so for the current one, Apr 2012 - Mar 2013. Basically they look at all applications finalized during that period and say how long did it take to complete each one, tally the numbers, and cumulatively, 80% were finalized in 19 months or less. So this would include an application received say Aug 2012 that was finalized in 7 months, as well as one received Oct 2011 that took 19 months to be finalized. So you can't quite say it applies to "new" or "old" applicants.

Behopeful is right as well... The time starts from when POS receives your application, not when you submitted to CIC, I.e. stage 1 is excluded.

Hi FAD, to be completely honest I am getting a bit drained by this process and being separated from my man (and this is stressing out my hubby to a point I have never seen before >:() so I would have to say we are officially in a "rough patch". That does not help :'( I am just at the point where I have to give it up to God or as you so rightly said, our sanity is on the line.

The gov't fiscal year runs from April 1st - March 31st so Oct., Nov., Dec. is their 3rd quarter and that is when there is more pressure exerted to hustle up and try to complete 2012 targets and move 2013 files through processing. Anything that comes before then will be a bonus. I am glad you were able to spend time with hubby recently and Lord get these babies, Daddies & Mommies re-united ASAP!!

Hi Behopeful, physical recovery almost complete but not doing 100% great emotionally. I think we have all been there, good days and bad. I have to laugh though that your little girl is more iPhone/iPad savvy than me. She also probably thinks that there is where Daddy lives :D. Blessings and for those of you that do not check the Kingston Forum I want to share a posted prayer here from one of their members (chilld of God) that gave me encouragement this morning.

Spouses' Prayer for Each Other

Lord Jesus,
Grant that I and my spouse may have a true and understanding love for each other. Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust.

Give us the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony.

May we always bear with one another's weaknesses and grow from each other's strengths.

Help us to forgive one another's failings and grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness and the spirit of placing the well-being of one another ahead of self.

May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing year. Bring us both ever closer to You through our love for each other.

Let our love grow to perfection. In Jesus name.

Amen.

I have to laugh.

I went to sign into my online banking to transfer money...

I got an error..

Why?

I put in hubby's UCI number instead of my account number. THAT'S how often I check e-cas... those numbers are burned into my mind.

Sigh.

Hahaha. You actually have the UCI memorized? Damn...
