Yes, send a CSE to POS informing them of the birth, telling them it is a child between you and the applicant, the birth date and that you will send a photocopy/scanned copy of birth certificate when you get it (or if you have somethign now, attach it to the CSE)

@Millslu - I'll take your complaints here hehe

FAD: huge congrats to you, your husband and families. Hope you and baby are doing well. Yes let them know you have a baby. Send a copy of the birth certificate too when you get it. Make sure it is the long form birth certificate because it will state your husband as the father (that is if you listed him as the father!) You may also need the long form to travel in the future. I've never been asked when going to Trinidad with my daughter but the US always asked for passport, long form birth certificate and notarized letter from my husband stating I can travel with her. I made sure to do her passport and notarized letter before he left Canada.
Congrats again and take care of yourself!

!!!!!CONFETTI FOR BABY FAD!!!!!!

So I'm figuring my husband is going to be asked for an RCMP clearance at some point. He was in Canada for longer then 6 months. Should I have him do his fingerprints inTrinidad now and I bring them back when I come and send off the request. I know it expires after 3 months so am I prematurely doing it? Our application has been in since December 2012.

Thank you! That does make complete sense about the ARC, after searching diff posts on here it seems thats what everybody does so we shall wait :) I do have a business lisence that I think I should include and also claimed all (ok some) of the cash I made in 2012 lol
Ohhhh and guess what I just found out.... hubby was geting welfare from March 2012 until last month when he was removed.....its funny how things come up when your doing a sponsorship ::) I hope that doesnt effect anything though

From what I understand it won't impact your application. If he was a refugee (think you said he was) he is allowed to collect welfare. When a decision is made on the refugee status and if its a negative one, I think, he can't collect welfare past his removal date. So in other words if he was suppose to leave January 1 but didn't leave until March and kept collecting welfare, he may have to repay those few months. That's my basic understanding!

Thanks guys :)

We are fine. Just wishing hubby was there.

Do you all know how soon i can travel with her?

you know i never knew ppl with refugee claimant could collect welfare that is so crazy, but if he is not in canada anymore yes definatly get the RCMP there is no way it can expire casue he isnt in the country anymore.

I'm sure you are fine to travel when she is back to birth weight and you are feeling up to it. What will hold you up is getting her birth certificate and her passport. I think birth certificate took about a month and passport they can rush if you do it in person. Maybe 2 weeks for that. My husband had to be present to sign for something with the passport but can't recall the exact procedure. So you're looking at about a month or 6 weeks before everything is ready.

Yup refugees can collect and refugees are entitled to health care as well. It gets paid by the federal government as apose to provincial government. It's only when the person is denied a claim that things change!

Ok thanks Millslu. Will get on the RCMP thing. So basically we do the fingerprints and they will give us the fingerprints? I do the paperwork and send it all off together. And I get something in return saying he is clear? How long did yours take? May be different if he is out of country.

Millslu... Can't hurt to email it to them. Don't suppose you will get a reply. Go ahead and email it! You will hve it to take to the interview too so it's all good. I figure its more important to take to the interview. They won't do much with it at this point because you have an interview scheduled.

So it took a month to get back. Does anyone know, when the fingerprints are done in a foreign country, do they give the fingerprints to you or does the police station send the prints to canada on your behalf?
