i hope am not asking to much but @ missdominica how did yourll meet?

We met at a dance hall in Dominica. My dad was visiting me and me and my dad and a new friend were showing us around some local hangouts and we were at one place for awhile and this guy asked me to dance. And he was SUCH a good dancer and I was not familiar with the music (at that time, now I know it so well) so I looked like a fool lol, but he was so good at teaching me. So I dubbed him "my dance partner" and he was sad because he thought I was a tourist on a cruise ship or a sailboat just passing through and when I told him I'd lived there for awhile and I would be there for a long time to come, he was very happy. So he became my dance partner and we would meet up at all different events at night for dancing (different bars/clubs have events certain nights). After a short while we went on a date and started hanging out every day and the rest is history!

ohhhh so sweet...well sounds amazing...how was your lecture today did it go well.

Actually, it kind of sucked lol. We usually have amazing lecturers but these two were for the birds. Hence why I was able to post on here so much through the day... was not listening to them (they talked more about themselves than the lecture).

Anyway, gotta get something to eat and relax for a bit before studying.

Inlimbo's hubby gotta do his thing tomorrow! Wishing u guys the best of luck!!!

Hey Everyone...it has been a long time but I thought I would give you an update....

Just got back from our interview at POS....bad news is....they cant find my husbands or his sons medical!!!!???? Why they only wait until the interview to tell us...I dont know! The interview was pretty simple and they didnt ask too many questions..just the basics of our relationship. So now we have to wait to hear from them if we have to re-do the medicals or that they found them. Kind of confused by the whole thing! Why they wouldnt have told us 2 months ago that the medicals were not in the system for some bizzare reason. If we had known we could have had the medicals re-done. I think they messed up because how could immigration lose to medicals...one from Jamaica and one from Barbados...something is wrong. My husband said the lady was really nice. The interview was 45 minutes late...and lasted about 45minutes total. They gave him back my passport, his passport and his sons.

So now we wait...again. :(

Oh my word...sorry to hear that inlimbo.
Why wouldnt they inform you prior?? Did ur ECAS say Meds Received?
Hopefully they realise this is their screw up and process your hubby's file soonest

that is some irresponsible stuff there, what do they take it for, after waiting so long, god help us all. so @limbo what is your next step.

I have no clue why they didnt inform us prior to the interview! It just makes me think they didnt look at the file until he sat down for the interview. We are trying to plan our next move because we dont know where to live until immigration contacts us. Its between staying in Trinidad or going to Jamaica! lol Next step is to contact the doctors offices in Barbados and Jamaica to find out which office they sent the medicals to. (mississauga or ottawa). But i find it hard to believe that both offices screwed up! It has to be an internal problem. They took no responsibility for the mix up or appoligized. We just have to wait and see what happens. ECAS never had an update with meds received...they only updated our interview date. I keep asking why wouldnt they have figured this out before we came to trinidad!!???? Makes me so upset and dissapointed in Canadas immigration system. grrrrrr.

It is unfair to you for sure. I have heard many of the IO's there usually dont know squat about your file until u go to the interview which is just bull. I would complain to your MP if I were you. Since this was not your fault and someone has to take responsibility for this.

How is it melanitabonita got hers pending medical n what not n u have to go back without an answer. Btw is it imperitive that we have to do our medical again after 6 months?

Your medical is valid for 12 months.

Girl, glad to hear the interview went ok and was not so stressful. Sorry that SOMETHING had to go wrong and I hope they find your medicals soon!

Did they give you any idea how long it would be before they decided on the interview/visa or was it an approval but strictly need to find your medicals (how stressful!)

Hoping for the best!

They told my husband that all the information provided was legit and true to her knowledge. After she went over the information we submitted she said she could not find the medicals in the system. She said she was going to write our immigration consultant in Toronto an email regarding the medicals and for payment of the landing fee. What I get from the whole thing is that he is approved but she still needs the medicals and they will request their passports. My husband asked her how long it will take to request the passports...she said she does not know.

those of you who have had passport requests..how long does it usually take to get back your passport once they receive it? Also, where does the medical office normally send your medical....mississauga or ottawa??? Just curious of the doctors sent them to the wrong office! Say they sent them to Ottawa...if Ottawa received them would they not forward them to the correct location? Isnt the medical updated into the system anyways? Iam too confused for my liking...I swear if immigration hired all of those who went through this process..they would be better off!

That's awesome news that it seems to be an approval! Very happy for you.

As for the medical, I can't quite remember where it gets sent.. mine was either Ontario or Ottawa (I just remember it started with O). But regardless, it should have been entered into the system that it was received. Hopefully they have them and they just need to be sent to POS. Surely, as you said, both medical offices did not mess up. This is a CIC problem and they should sort it out soon for you.

Keep strong knowing that your time is here now and just a few kinks to be worked out.

Congrats!

Congrats to Inlimbo... Almost there! I can understand your frustration with CIC.

Our medicals were sent to Ottawa. When we had the medicals completed te MD said it was a recent change that the medicals were being sent to Ottawa. Don't know anything more about that though. Here's to hoping it won't be too much longer for your family!
