@ Bajeinwaiting Woop! Woop! Congrats!!!!!

@ MissDominica Yuup! Just checked the website. Dominica only has 1 DMP. Unless you guys are willing to travel to Martinique or another country to get the meds done before the 30th. Are you still applying for the TRP?

Still deciding on TRP... It would be nice but we're considering whether to save the $$ it would cost for a short visit and maybe spend it instead for me to visit him in Dominica a few times over the next year while the PR application is in process. Tough decision.

As for the Doc, I still can't believe they don't have some restriction on how long the ONLY one allowed to do the exams can leave the country. Oh well, I guess I have to deal.

As for travelling to another island, I would have to do it more than once, right? I assume there is the initial visit where you take the blood, urine, x-ray requests, get them done, then come back for the results and stuff? So if I do it on another island, I'd have to make several trips.. sounds $$$... I've thought about it, but I don't know.

Thanks :)

Ha...my dear, there is absolutely nothing surprising about that, this is Dominica you talking about. Upsetting, frustrating, annoying yes, but surprising? Nahh . I gave up on expecting sensible functioning in that place a long time ago. Sad, but tru.

REAL talk right there. Lol. I should have expected some delay... but, yes, still frustrating... But I think everyone here understands delays and frustration right about now.

So much to organise i don;t know where to start but I'm gonna take it in stride.

You dont need to apply for a PR card...you will automatically receive one 6-8 weeks after landing.

Admirable/Anyone else that knows,

I am actually considering going to somewhere else (another island) to get the medicals done before June 30th. Do you know how many visits it requires? Do you just visit once and get ALL the samples, exam done? Then the results come back adn the doctor mails you your report? Or do you have to go back more than once to get this all accomplished?

Thanks in advance

Here in BIM I went for 1 visit to the DMP. She did all of the blood work etc and the xray was done at the same clinic she operates out of. there is only 1 DMP in BIM as well, but she is quite professional and she will quote you the full rate when you call to make the appointment. After she does her thing she gives you the COPY 2 of the form for you to attach to your app and she mails the other stuff on to POS.

@ MissDominca You need to contact the DMPs and find out if everything can be done in one day. Every DMP operates differently.
Here is the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx

@ Bajeinwaiting Yuup! One day at a time is the way to go. & as for me, the wait is torture but i've come this far soooo praise God for that. I'm hanging in there alright. One day waiting, is another day closer to the end.

Thanks Smoki and Admiral.

Smokie - I'm going to call this woman tomorrow and see if she can get me in.. I wonder how long she takes to book an appointment? Was it fairly fast with you? If she can get me in within the next 2 weeks, I'll do that. Thank you for the info :D

When I did my meds I scheduled the appointment as close to the application date as possible. Give them a call, I presume they would be able to fit you in as there are not a lot of applicants from Bim to Canada

Just got a call from fedex....My pp is here folks.
They sent it out this morning at 7:30.

After all, I have to keep sending CSE's to POS for movement on my file. Can you believe it? Stupessssssss!!!! Those ppl are worthless in that office. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

E-CAS still says in process....Well, I gave up on that a long time ago.
