So then you'd have a year to leave and arrive in Canada ..

Pretty much. Possibly minus a week or two, depending on how long they take to return your passport. When are you expecting your COPR?

Oh yeah...just read back on your previous posts, lol my bad. Have you contacted POS to find out why they are delaying the interview date? This is taking way too long, even for them. By the way, the meds can only be extended within 15 months of the original date. Looks like yours were done 25-May-2012. So essentially, 25-Aug-2013 is the latest they can request the extension.

I don't want to contact them until I'm ready for my wife to get through....If I force their hand now that would push back my plans...my wife is in Canada on a multiple visa- just had a baby and I plan to take parental leave and go back home for a few months with the fam. If I force POS now that might mean they get through and we have to return...is what I was thinking...what do you think... personally with her visa for a few years I decided not to bug POS...I was waiting on their 19 months timeframe

Lol you're one of the lucky few that doesn't need the PR to reunite your family so hey, if letting them take their time works out better for you guys, then why not? It certainly won't hurt anything. Just keep a diligent eye on your emails, snail mail n phone calls in case they contact you. It's fine to let them work on their time, but if they contact you to request anything, don't delay in responding as that could screw up your application.

Yea let them take their time...thanks for the info !!!!
I have to write POS and notify them of my Canadian sons birth...but I hope that doesn't trigger them to act on the application. After you land can you leave soon After fr a few months?

Once landing, you obtain PR status and can come and go as you please. There is a residency requirement to maintain PR status, check the CIC website for exact details, I think you have to be in Canada 6 months out of the year or something. But you can leave anytime. People often land right after getting their COPR, then leave right after to return to their country to tie up lose ends and such.

You're lawyer sounds like a moron... just sayin. Also, I agree that POS is working.. We sent of a visitor visa application (again) to try and get hubby to Canada for the summer. It was denied, of course, and we got it back Monday. Took them exactly 10 business days from receiving it (which is their posted time)... so someone is there working on stuff for sure. Although they seem to have forgotten to work on some of our PR apps lol.. Grrrrr >:(

Hi Miss D. and thanks for the happy vibes, especially knowing you have both a personal and professional understanding of that outcome being great news. Happy vibes back, so glad you are with hubby now, Millslu was right, you were on a flight :D!! Prayers and blessings for your cherished time together - enjoy it - and for your successful exam results. I vote that you and hubby take a trip to POS and give that office a "mash-up" for all of us :P (thanks for updating the spreadsheet as well).

with my current sentiments, my mash up would likely land in me in jail.. and ineligible as a sponsor LOL

What reason did they give for denial this time?

lol......we definitely do not want that. Very sorry to hear about the TRV refusal as well, that is one of the parts of this process that most burns me up (we have had 4 refusals). I fantasize about taking the govt' to court after this is all over and starting some kind of class action lawsuit for all of the pain and suffering that people all over the world have had to experience at the mercy of a terrible system. Rant of the day.....I think. Have fun with hubby and do not let &%$#!!! POS steal your joy! :D Blessings.
