.

Can4vincy - Hope you are finally with your hubby! yay :)

Exciting news - FINALLY sending off my application today once the post office opens. Will have to update the spreadsheet once it is official.. and the journey begins.

Hope someone hears some good news today before the weekend.

Stay strong friends!!

Hi guys, sorry I've been AWOL. The stress of waiting was getting to me n I just needed to take a break from it all!

We have had some movement in the meantime as follows:
~ July 22 - Ecas updated to In Process and "we started processing your application Jul 19"
July 26 - Received an email from POS saying that they have sent in a request to extend our medicals (they expired Jul 17), and that they sent us a letter dated Jul 24 with further details

As of now, we are still waiting on that letter. I emailed them back asking if they could send the letter via email, but of course there's been no response from that. Why these people insist on sending snail mail and then EMAILING you about it is beyond me!! Like they have no sense of urgency whatsoever!!

Anyhoo, congrats to everyone who's made some progress and Ms Dominica, welcome to the POS process! :)

Congrats Zouk, things are moving along for you. Hopefully you will be done soon. I would say you are in the home stretch.

Thanks Smoki :)

I'm really hoping so. Our anniversary is next month, I really hope we can be together by then!

Thanks Zouk! I hope the progress on your end means you're almost there - sounds promising!!!

Can someone with editing ability add me to the spreadsheet? I mailed my application off today.. supposed to be there Tuesday. Outland POS.

I moved back to Canada a few days ago... so hard.. but it's just the beginning.. It'll be worth it soon enough.

Hey Everyone,

I miss all of you.
After being ill for quite some time, I'm happy to say that I am doing much better and transitioning into my new beginning in Canada pretty good. I'm feeling so much better.

There's so many threads to read through. I've missed so much. To those who have gotten through this process, wishing you a successful settlement in Canada. I love it here. It's so disciplined and there are many programs available to newcomers. Even though the immigration process is long going through POS office, Canada welcomes newcomers with open arms. I must say, i'm impressed.

To all those waiting, keep your head up and hang in there. Your time will come soon.

Still haven't received my PR Card. @Smoki I see that you've got yours. A big congrats. In that case i should be getting mines anytime soon.

@Can4Vincy I'm extremely happy your hubby is over this process.... Long overdue. Congrats & I wish you all the best.

Hey Admirable,

Great to hear from you! Glad things are going well for you over here.

We're hanging in there. PoS says they sent us a letter over 3 weeks ago...yet to receive it. This is sooo frustrating!

Good morning all.
Hi Admirable, glad to hear you are better. You are going to have a long life. Only this morning I thought of you.
Thanks, let's hope your card arrives soon.

Admirable,

So great to hear from you - we were missing your frequent posts and helpful advice. So glad to hear you are enjoying Canada - it is a great place :) Glad you're feeling better!

Hi Everyone
I was hoping to get a nice anniversary gift from POS yesterday but still had a
a great first anniversary in NY on a dinner cruise with a beautiful view of the Hudson bay and New York skyline . It was an amazing evening . Hopefully we hear something soon from POS .. We are on our 8th month.

@ Admiral : it is so good to hear from you again and I am happy that you are feeling better and settling in to Canada well. Soon you will get your pr and enjoy all the benefits of living in Canada .
Cheers !

UPDATE!!!

The anticipated letter has finally arrived! I am right >:( that these people wasted THREE WEEKS of our time by sending this in the mail, but...bigger picture right?

The wording is kinda strange though. I am thinking that it might be because they're waiting on our medical extension to come through? It says:

"I am pleased to advise you that you appear to meet the selection requirements and a final decision on your application will be made when you provide the following items to our office:

- police certificate from Dominica
- passport with validity of at least 1 year
- one current photo meeting the enclosed specifications
- complete the following information for yourself.
Name _________. Eye color ____________. Height (cm) _________

You are required to submit all the items listed above in sixty (60) days from the date of this letter"

And then all the photo info n stuff.

It just seems weird they didn't mention the visa being ready for issuance ::)
I'm also not sure why they want the PC from Dominica, but at this point, whatever .

Now we continue to wait on that medical extension. So in essence, our processing took 6 months in stage 2 (at PoS)
