Hi Everyone!

Did anyone else receive "medicals have been received" on the week of October 11th? I was just reading the forum for KNG (Kingston), and there is a bunch of ppl that now have that same msg. It may be a "glitch" in the system (so some ppl are saying) I guess the same thing happened in Feb.......I hope this isnt true, or I got excited for no reason

oh man i received that message then. i am going to be so beyond sad if that is the case. i was getting all excited and happy and if this is just a glitch i dont know what it will do for my spirits. how do we contact POS to find out if this is a glitch anyone know?

U can't really contact this office.... U can fax them or email them only. I
Tried to call once and some young sounding girl answered the phone smacking her
Gum and said I can't talk to anyone, then hung up!

Let's both hope for the best! I'm sure it's fine and we are both due for these msg's!!!

Dont worry yet though .... Post on here if u get a ppr.... We r waiting patiently for ours too

Hi all,

I'm new here, was looking around the forum for the past 2 days or so to get a feel of what happens here and to see how different people deal with the wait on POS.

Congrats to all those who have complted the process and good luck to those who like myself are still in line awaithing PR.

My application was submitted 2 August 2011 and on 13 Oct the wife got an email stating she whad met all requirements to sponsor and that our application had been forwarded to POS.

The following week my status on ECAS was DECISION MADE the application to sponsor ......... had been received and also my medicals were received. This was the second update in that week. The first update stated IN PROGRESS.

I know some people say there is a 3 month waiting period after the file is received in POS, but I am just glad to hear what has happened to my file so far.

So a bit of background on our case... I'm Canadian by birth, lived here more than half my life, but grew up ina Dominica, and my husband is also from Dominica, went to the US with his parents as a teenager, but is now out of status. We have tons of mutual friends, but strangely never knew each other back home, and only met in 2009. We recently got married (exactly 4 weeks ago actually), and are patiently awaitng our marriage certificate so we can submit our application. We didn't feel the need to pay a full representative, but did meet with an immigration consultant for an initial session, and then had him review our application package when it was complete.

He mentioned to me that there was a pilot program underway, whereby the application is processed in Ottawa rather than transfering the file to POS, and once the decision is made, POS is informed and asked to issue PPR or request interview. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

Welcome to all the new members. As the AOR states, they usually finalize apps between 6-12 of them being recieved, lets hope this is not just hot air!

It will be 12 months for me March 2012 .... Hope to God it doesnt take that long! From what I have been reading most ppl that get the meds received msg get their ppr soon after that.

Only problem I see happening is that his meds expired this month. I called the Canadian call centre and they said depending on the IO and how close you are to the end of the process they have the right to extend medicals......

Has anyone had emails from their IO? OR just snail mail?

Thanks for the welcome. It's nice to know that there are persons out there who are genuinely interested in their fellowman and is there to support each other.

It would be nicer if there was more cheerful news coming out of POS, I suppose all we can do is to take it easy and in time things will happen.

Hi mahinder76, welcome!!!......I sent in all my original docs from the begining....did you send all photocopies? Or what original docs are you talking about??

*Puts away Colt Magnum .45* LOL. Yes, some spousal cases are also going through Ottawa, but that is because that office also serves as the backup office for visa offices located in countries experiencing civil/military disturbances. Currently that means Egypt (Cairo) and Syria (Damascus) only. There would be no need for cases from POS to go through there.
