Started sponsorship of my hubby in St Lucia Feb 2016. I'm in Canada. I was cleared to sponsor in 32 days. Then went TT. Had to prove my marriage was legit 2x. He had to do ARC. Had a criminal record here in Canada 17 years ago, 2001. Was deported back in 2004. He does have record suspension. Works in security now in St Lucia 13 years. No record at all. Has all his family here including a daughter. Had to write a letter of special circumstance as to why he should be allowed back. We did that. I even wrote one.
I check cic site everyday but nothing. I email constantly but all I got was, "with reviewing Officer".
Site says, no interview, no new medical( been extended) but he did pass, no figure prints required as we did that 2x already. Other than that, all is just in progress.
Here we are, 17 months in all for Sponsorship and 9 months with ARC.
I understand the delay, he is a deportee BUT has met all requirements. I can see maybe a month or so but wow 17 months? Web site says, to reunite families within 12 months. If gone longer, need to contact.
PLEASE, can anyone tell me what the heck they are doing? I'm freaking out, not hopeful at all. It would be absolutely cruel after all this waiting time to be denied. He has as I said, a Canadian Pardon.
I literally have been begging them to tell me something. But NOPE!!

Hi rizwankhanx19, my husband recently applied for PR we got AOR1, Sponsor Approved and file transferred to the local visa office, my question is did you get your medical request before or after your file was transferred??? because I'm seeing most people receive medical request before the transfer of which we didn't receive as yet...
