Please help!

I am sponsoring my husband from Nicaragua. His Police Record and Court Certificate have been requested, and of course we will need to get that translated.

The instructions clearly state to send in a coloured scanned copy of the original papers, and that certified copies will not be accepted. However when it comes to translations—instructions say you need a certified translation and a certified copy of the original document being translated.

Has anyone been through this and knows what to do? Maybe I don’t need a certified copy because I’m sending a scan of the original?

Did you solve this ??
Yes and no.

The police certificates that were given to me—i have to bring them to the supreme court for legalization. They attached an extra document to each certificate (as a certification i guess) and a stamped all the papers mutliple times. Even if i wanted to get certified copies there is no room anywhere on the certificates.

I am sending an ORIGINAL scan of the documents

I feel as though because it was legalized at the supreme court, that is the highest form of certification where i am from. Plus its an scan of the ORIGINAL.

Yes, if you scan an Original document, that is all you need. A Certified copy of a document is needed when you are sending things by mail and the Original is not requested or you don't have it.
