I would request your kind opinion/clarification on the following:

My file is being processed now. Infact, I just had the CHC official call me for employment verification which went alright.

I am not a US National. I had applied n got a FBI PCC & Washington state PCC last year around September 2010.

CONFUSION: I was told by my consultant that PCC'S FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES are VALID UPTO 1 YEAR.

Now, what I would like to know is if this is true as my WA state PCC has expired and FBI is expiring in October and I do not have the new PCC's and haven't even applied for one assuming what my consultant told me is true.

Would I need to apply for a new FBI PCC or should I send the existing one right now without their request?

Also, is US state PCC a mandatory requirement?

Your input is highly appreciated.

PCC should have been applied within 3 months of application submission. If you have your FBI PCC send it to CHC/Visa office. No need to send the state PCC unless asked specifically by VO. It is not mandatory

Thanks for your reply, Ankit.

I applied for PCC in the month of AUG'10 and got it around OCT'10. I sent my initial application package to CIC in January 2011. So do u think its invalid now?

What date did you submit PCC to CIO. Was it in Jan 2011. If yes you have nothing to worry

I didn't submit the PCC at the application stage. I still have it with me. Do u think I could send it right now?

Yes submit it at the earliest. Just make sure that the issue date on the PCC should be with in 90 days from date of your application to CIO

Thank u so much Ankit

Mine is same case as yours gautam, the only difference is i have been asked for additional documents on 30th of sep by NDVO, and tomorrow i am going to submit my almost one year old US and UK pccs. my consultant told me that sir, you have not visited those countries after that , so VO will not ask for fresh ones now. ( there is a logic i guess) if i have not visited the country ever after that , whats the use of obtaining fresh PCCs?
since i m in india for the last 4-5 years so i have issued a fresh one from india.

thanks
sonir

He is totally right. 8) if you did not go back to the USA.

I agree with your consultant and I do not see any issues. As per the CIC application guide date on PCC should not be 90 days older than your original application date date to CIO

Mine is like 97 days older than the date I filed my application. Upon submission of my PCC's to the consultant, so that they could send to the CIO during initial filing of my application, they did not send the PCC's. They in-turn sent the PCC's back to me for submission when asked. However, I have sent the PCC's to ND VO 5 days back without them asking for it.

Lets see how it goes.
