Police clearance certificate from Indian embassy for a dependent wife in Canada

HI,

I have moved to Canada in september 2016 on temporary resident visa. My husband's PR is in process and he wants me to add my name in his PR. For this I need my Police Clearence certificate(PCC). I donot have a work permit or study permit yet. When I called Blsindia for procedure they say they cannot issue PCC for visitors unless I have any permit. Is this the situation for all dependent wifes in Canada. IS there any way I can get my PCC before I get my work permit. I am worried as my work permit will take more 3 months and adding me in PR status of my husband gets more delayed.

Any advice is greatly aprreciated

Try contacting them again and see whether you can request for PCC using your temporary resident visa. If the answer is still NO then you can think about flying to India and applying for one at PSK.
