I applied in August 2015 with a PCC that was acquired in November 2014. CIC website states that PCC should be obtained after the period when you have last lived more than 6 months.

Your PCC should be fine!!! All the best with your application

Hi , Whether we should explain in an LOE about 6 months ?

Thanks

Not necessarily because CIC website states clearly that "For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

If your certificate is in a language other than English or French, send it when you apply, along with the original copy of a translation done by a certified translator."

Thank you very much for your reply chaitanyaprsd1
But I have heard that PCC is valid only for one year. Any inputs on this ?

I am not sure about this. There is no such validity period mentioned on my Indian PCC or USA FBI report. I haven't even seen any such thing on CIC website. May be other seniors can share their thoughts on this.

Hi - Have a query regarding Indian PCC

Have been collecting the documents required except Indian PCC. Can i upload the request document stating that i have requested for the police certificate with receipt
and then upload it after i have received it. Anybody has done it like this before. Please suggest

Thanks
Ravi

Ravi, I strongly suggest you wait for the PCC and NOT submit along with the documents which says you are going to get one soon. If you do that there is a strong possibility that they will not accept your application on accounts of it being incomplete. How much time do you have to submit your application?

I still have around 50 days to submit my application. i want to submit it ASAP, get the AOR # and apply for Open Work permit which is expiring on Jan 26,2016. That's the reason i am planning to apply for Indian PCC and then upload once i receive it so that i can save about 1-2 weeks of processing time of Open work permit (which is taking around 3-4 months)

I was in Dubai in the year 2008 for 1.5 year. How come i collect the Police Clearance certificate as i left UAE in 2009.I think if i get invitation to apply for PR i have to submit PC of UAE. Could anybody suggest the best solution?

Option 1:
If you have a relative or friend in UAE who can apply for the same on your behalf, go and collect it personally for you, then kindly use this option.

Option 2:
Kindly find the below link for Genius Group - an agent who can help you obtain UAE PCC:

http://www.policeclearancecertificate.info/

UAE PCC is an expensive affair via agents - average cost around INR 30k to INR 35K

Hi guys,

this is regarding PCC requirement. I just got an ITA yesterday.
I was born in india. Lived there till July 2012 and have been in Canada since. While visiting my family in Jan 2014, I got a PCC from India. Do i need to get a new one now or is that one, which is 1.5 yrs old, still valid ? Thanks a lot for your help

Your PCC is still valid provided you have not lived 6 months or more in India after obtaining this PCC in 2014.

If you were 18 years or older in USA during 2000-2003 OR you turned 18 during your stay in this period and have stayed for 6 months or more, then you definitely need to obtain USA PCC.

If you were younger than 18 during your entire stay in USA, you DO NOT need to obtain it.

Hi guys,

I studied in Dubai for one of MBA semester. Duration from the date I entered and exited UAE was around 5.5 months. Even though I am yet to receive an ITA, posting this question has If i need to obtain PCC from UAE, guess it is going to take time. Have we seen CIC asking for PCC for stays just below 6 months like this?

Thanks

Yes there have been cases where CIC has requested PCC from a country where the applicants had stayed for less than 6 months. It is wise to get PCC from Dubai (in case they ask you to submit it).

Hi Guys,

Just to confirm, does PCC have any validity period?
