HI . The new guidelines from Feb 2018 mention that we only need to provide PCC for countries where we lives for 6 months in a row.

How do they define "In a row"

I lived in a country for 8 months, but took several trips lasting 2 days to 1 week at a time. I have visa stamps that prove all entry and exit from that country. At no time was in the country consecutively for 6 months. Do I need a PCC ? I don't have any address proof from that time as I was a consultant to a local company which took care of our accomodation

New guidelines https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...s-entry/apply-permanent-residence.html#police

Thanks
Sal

I have a very similar situation. Does anyone know about it?

Hi,
Did any of you guys find out the answer to your situation?

I'm in the same situation, where I was in a country for 3 months (Mid Oct- Mid Jan) left for 10 days (Mid Jan - Late Jan), went back for 6 days (Late Jan into early Feb) waiting for a flight before leaving again for 2 weeks (early Feb - Mid Feb), before finally coming back for 2 months before leaving again for a long period.

Technically no. But you should get it if you can.
See example C

I guess I will. Was hoping to avoid having to apply for this one if I could get away with it, just to save me the hassle as it has to come from Thailand.

Thanks for your reply
You will be asked to provide since your address remains the same in address history despite short trips abroad.

I don’t understand what you mean by “your address remains the same in address history”. I didn’t have an address there. I was on a tourist visa and Thailand was a country I use in South East Asia to travel in between other countries in that region.

I also have a similar situation. I'm from the UK and have requested UK Police cert, which is en route. I've spend around 4 months, end of May until beginning of October in Canada. Went back to the UK for a month, and then came back to Canada beginning of November. So I've spent 5 out of the last 6 months in Canada, and by the time I send off the PR application in a few weeks it'll be 6 out of 7 months, but not 6 months straight.

The application checklist states I don't need to apply for a Canadian Police certificate, and they'll request one if they need it. However there is a box I have to tick/not tick depending on if I've been in Canada for the last 6 months. I'm leaning towards not ticking it, because technically it's the most accurate response to what they've requested.
