Hi, sorry for starting a new thread, but I've been looking through the search option of an hour and haven't found an answer to this question. I'm apply to sponsor my wife (we both live in the UK), do we both need to have a medical and police report or just my wife? I ask this because in the check list for it says the applicant and all family members need medical/police checks, but does that apply to the sponsor who is sponsoring his wife? I'm a bit confused :-[

Thanks for the help, love this forum!

Just your wife - not you.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply.

While I'm at it, another newbie question which has puzzled me. When we first send our application, do we send out passports as well or just copies of the passport until they need the actually passports?

Just copies. When/if the visa office needs the actual one, they will ask for it.

Wow, you people are great. One last question, i promise ;D

My wife is filling in the section where you have to indicate where you have travelled to in the last 10 years. Do I, as her husband but also as the sponsor who is sponsoring her, have to also supply this information on her application where it says to put down the travel information of her spouse?

If the Regional Guide asks for it for the sponsor as well, then yes.

Thought i throw out another question in this thread instead of starting a new one.

My wife (applicant) used to live in Canada on a student and then work visa before it ran out and she had to go back to the UK. When she had the visa's, she had a Client ID number, does she need to include the Client ID in this application when it stays to indicate the CID number or does she need to leave it blank so they can issue her a new number for this application?

Use the number she had before.

One more question pleas. It says that my wife has to supploe 8 photos of herself and her family members according to the photo specification stated in Appendix B, does that me that she has to supple photo of myself also (her husband and the person sponsoring her) or just herself?

Just the photos of your wife and children if there is any who will accompany her on the sponsorship. Tho sponsor don't need to provide any ID photos, Immigration already have your photos and records.

I'm almost there, just one last question then i can send off my form!!!

I, the sponsor, am a naturalized Canadian. I became a Canadian citizen in 1991 and on my record of landing card (yes, my mom still kept them) there is no UCI/Client ID number, only an Immigrant Identification number which is 'B-####-####-2'. Can I use the 8 digits in the middle and input that as my UCI/Client ID number in form IMM1344E? or is that a different number? I cant find any paperwork with a client ID number on it, and am not sure if they even existed in those days.

Client ID number should only be provided if you know it. If you do not know your Client ID, you can simply leave it blank. Since the Client ID number is an 8 digit number, I am pretty sure you cannot pick it up from some other place. Applicants are not expected to enter this information on the forms.

That what I thought, that i could just leave it blank, but with these new forms that have a VALIDATE button on them, it won't let me validate it without a number in it. OHH his is so depressing, I'm so close. :(

Can you ensure the UCI field is completly blank (that it does not contain any spaces) and then try to validate? If that does not work, as a last resort, you may have to download the form again and start afresh :(

I do not know the number, would it be ok to just write 0000-0000 so that i can validate the form?
