Hi there,
I am from the U.S. and am currently being sponsored by my husband for PR in Canada. I submitted my application back in January and just heard back from them. They are asking for police checks from me but I am a little confused because I keep getting conflicting information. On the acknowledgement of receipt letter it states:
"At this time you need to submit Police Record Checks for
1) the country where you currently live, if you have lived there for 6 months or more and
2) the country where you have spent most of your adult life since you have turned 18."
The instructions on the actual CIC website say that I don't need to submit one for Canada, but I have been in Canada for a year and half now. Where you can upload your documents in your CIC account next to Police Checks it also shows "(Multiple), so i'm not sure if that's my answer or not.
So do I need to get a police check from the RCMP for Canada or not?
Also, does my sponsor(Canadian-born spouse) need to fill out of the Schedule A Background declaration or just me?
Please advise.
Thank you!

Hi there. Everyone gets the (multiple) on their online account, it is a generic message. The CIC website information is correct - if they want an RCMP check, they will request fingerprints from you at a later date. No need to submit one at this time.

Only you fill out the Schedule A.
