Police check spousal sponser

hi all,
I am sponsoring my husband from the US (living with him here). I am trying to figure out what he needs for the police check. is there forms I need? do I just go to a local station? do I need finger prints. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You get finger prints, then send them to the FBI. Im on my phone and dont have the link but Im sure someone will be along. It takes 1-2 months, I believe.

He is the one that needs fingerprints and the FBI certificate. (plus any other country (except Canada) where he has resided for more than 6 months since the age of 18) The instructions are : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

Hi PPM,

I did fingerprints and the FBI certificate for my wife since she lived in US for more than a year before comming to Canada. During the PR processing do CIC need to do thier own background check appart from the fingerprints and the FBI certificate we did and attached to the PR application? Please let me know. I called CIC last week and I was told that they are conducting background checks on my wife. Is this ture?
