Hi again all,

The guide says:

When we ask you for police certificate(s) at this stage, you’ll have to submit them for:

-the country where you currently live, if you have lived there for six months or more; and
-the country where you have spent most of your adult life since the age of 18

This sounds to me like they are going to want an RCMP clearance (since my husband lives here now--well... on visitor status, anyway) and an FBI Clearance (he lived all his life before in the US).

I haven't heard of anyone doing an RCMP Clearance for spousal sponsorship before, but in reading the guide, that's really what it sounds like they're going to ask for. If that's the case, we need to do that now, as it takes 120 days or more to get it according to the site, and we will need to produce it within 30 days of them asking for it.

Thoughts?

???

Ohhh wait... I think I see on the website that with electronic prints and NO MATCH, it would only take 3 business days for RCMP clearance, if I'm reading it right. Still... do you think we will have to do this?

No, you do need to provide an RCMP check.
