If you live outside the US, I am not sure how you can request a police certificate. But the procedure is that you need to go to the local police station and show your drivers license and request them to provide a letter stating that they have no criminal record in your name in the last 10 years.dr_ziad80 said:hi

FBI would need your fingerprints, which I believe can be sent from anywhere in the world. Just get the correct fingerprint form from their website.minnesotamrk said:If you live outside the US, I am not sure how you can request a police certificate. For FBI background check, you need to get your fingerprints taken (again at a local police station for a fee or a fingerprinting vendor in your city) and mail the fingerprint card to FBI along with fee payment ($18 per person)

I went to a local fingerprinting business and they did 3 sets. The guy said those will be used in case one gets rejected. I think they send you through normal USPS mail. still waiting to hear from them.dr_ziad80 said:could you please tell me if you sent one set of fingerprints or you sent an extra one in case the first one dont pass ?
did they sent it back to you via mail or private courier ?

Are we obliged to send PCC from USA if we've lived there more than 10 years ago? I've understood from the instructions that we do, but I've send only PCC from my country because I had no time to obtain one from USA. Also, they said that we could show it at some later stage.minnesotamrk said:If you live outside the US, I am not sure how you can request a police certificate. Also, can they get a record of me living there 15 years ago, do they check it independently? What would happen if I just don't mention that?
Thanl you!nskatcv said:Quoting from http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/infORmation/security/police-cert/intro.asp
Who needs a police certificate?
In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18.
You can provide it later, when they ask. Better would be to have it ready asap, for CIC will give only limited time for you to submit.
Let the FBI worry about what information they have for you from that long. Whatever FBI gives you as PCC, just submit that to CIC.
