Hello,

I am still waiting for a response from OINP regarding my application - package was sent Jan 21st so I might be hearing from them by the end of April.
In the mean time, I am wondering whether I should begin working on the paperwork required afterwards?
For instance it says that I need police certificates for all countries I've lived for for longer than 6 months.
I lived in the US for 2 years and returned to my home country about 7 years ago. Because of this, I would need to get a Police Certificate from the FBI.
This certificate takes a long time to get (about 3 months). So I am wondering whether it would be a good idea to begin working on that or not.

Thanks!

Yes, get your US PCC. It takes 16 weeks to get it. Get your fingerprints taken by a professional and send them using a courier with tracking.

Thank you. Do you know where could I find a fingerprint professional?
I'm thinking maybe local police might help?

Depends on where you are located. I am currently in UK and got it done in London.

I'm located in Chile but have no idea on who might be able to help with this.
I tried googling this with no luck.

Do you have national criminalistic laboratory or institution of criminology and forensic? I found that when I tried to look up for institution to get my fingerprints profesionally.

FBI clearance is ridiculous, 4 months as someone said (16 weeks) is not even always honoured. No other country that I'm aware of takes this long nor requires fingerprints but I don't claim to have vast knowledge on this subject. It is at relatively least relatively cheap at $18.

Does your local police station offer this service I wonder? Failing that are you going to be in another country (like anywhere in North America) soon as I think it's a lot easier in the US or Canada.

That worked, I just called them and they can help. Thank you!!
