Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I need a police certificate from my country of origin?

I moved to Canada for School when I was 18 (18 years and 3 months old to be precise) and since then I have not lived in my home country for more than 6 months. The cic mentions that you only need to provide certificate for every country you (or a family member) stayed in during the last 10 years for 6 months or more in a row. So do I need a police certificate from my home country at all?

Thanks for your help.

I'm actually on the same boat. I moved to Canada when I was 18 years and 5 months old, and the system did not ask me for PCC. But, I applied for one (and received it) before I received the checklist, so I am just planning to attach it to Letter of Explanation saying that "hey you didn't ask me for it, but here it is either way"

Thanks. I guess the system does not require one.

Yeah, the system does not ask you for it. But, there is a really good chance that VO might ask you for it during background checks. If you could give it to them upfront, that might save you a few days as they could process it faster.
