Hi Friend,

I visited USA twice in Business Visa. My total duration was 5 months.
Since I traveled in Business Visa, I don't have SSN number and I think without that I will not be allowed to apply for Police Certificate from USA.

Can you please let me know whether Police Certificate is required when you traveled with Business Visa?

If your total duration is below 6 months you don't need a PCC from that country. Make sure it's below 6 months though - any travel counts, business,student,tourist.. doesn't matter.

The only rule is - if you stayed 6 months in a country in total, you need a PCC

Not sure where you saw you need an SSN given you are not a US resident or citizen http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

As previous poster if culmulatively spent 6 months or more you need an FBI clearance. If you are unlucky sometimes CIC have been known to expand this to 5 months especially if between 5 and 6 months but for now assume you dont as CIC will ask if they want one.

If you download the application form from FBI website, you will find the SSN number mandatory there. Link: https://forms.fbi.gov/identity-history-summary-checks-review/q384893984839334.pdf
No it is not mandatory - for instance H4 visa holders who are legally in the country do not get SSNs. All it says is if you want SSN printed on the letter - then you need to provide it. They are running your PCC based on fingerprints not based on SSN.

So even if CIC requests for it, you should be good.
