Police Certificate for H1-B holder in USA? For FSWP 2014

Hi I am new here and request your help regarding Police certificates - I am from India and currently on H-1B Status since 2012 and applied for FSWP 2014.

As noted on CIC site, I need to submit police certificates from both US and India. I get the process for India (from consulates), however, can't make out what the process is for obtaining police certificate in US - looks like only FBI does it, but there is no clear indication of how it is done for non-citizens.

Any help is appreciated.

Go to local police station and they will get your finger prints done. We got ours done last Friday. Then fill application with finger prints, post them to FBI in WV. Very co-operative

Yes, FBI does it but they take about 4-5 weeks to do it. If you want it faster than that, you can use contractors that FBI has authorized for the process. One of them is in this link:
