Hi all,

I need some help in this category.

Do I need a criminal record check from Canada? I have heard some say I need all countries except for Canada, and some say I need Canada as well.
I noticed that on the CIC website, on the Canada page, it says....

"Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No"

I am assuming that means I don't need a record check for the time I spent in Canada?

Someone please confirm!

Thanks!

Some say... some say... How about what CIC says? : ) In the CEC instruction guide, it says:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp
"These documents are to be provided for each country other than Canada, in which you have lived for six (6) consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18."

CIC automatically conducts name-based RCMP checks for all applicants. Only if your name comes up with a criminal record (e.g. someone with the same name as you has a criminal record), CIC will then ask you to provide a fingerprint-based RCMP clearance. But unless and until CIC requests it, you do not need to get it.

Thanks for the help jes,

I have a few more questions hoping you could help me with :D

For photo requirements, it says I need 6 photos of each of my family member. Does that mean I need photos of my parents or just my spouse and children?

and for work experience section, if I just provide a employment letter and pay stubs, instead of T4 and NOA. Will that affect my application result?
because the T4 is from last year and previous job, which does not reflect how much my salary is at my current job.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Photo on any member of your family that you are sponsoring. Since you cannot sponsor your parents under CEC, then just spouse and children.

T4 and NOA are mandatory documents. That being said, you will not have NOA or T4 for 2014 yet. You can submit last yers T4, NOA, pay stubs, reference letter and job offer letter as temporary proof of employment. Once you get 2014's documents, email them.

Family members included on the application. Parents cannot be included.

If you are applying now, that means that some of your qualifying work experience took place in 2013, so you need the T4 and NOA from 2013 anyway.

as maniac said, once you get your 2014 T4 and NOA, you can add that to your file. Remember to file your tax return as soon as possible.
