I got a rejection letter from CHC New Delhi and this is what they say........
I got approval from CIO with 67 points.
I took 22 points into account with 15 years of Education with Single University Degree in India.
Before sending my application my friend who is a consultant told me that we normally get 22 Points for 15 Years of Education in India.
Education : 22
Language : 14
Age : 10
Work Exp : 21
Total : 67
So my application got approved by CIO and when i sent my application they rejected my application stating that i get 65 points and 20 points for my Education.
How does CIO and CHC allocates points and how can this difference come in picture.
When CIO passed me with 67 points and the same claim when i send with the proof i get 65 points.
How is this possible ?
Can i appeal for this ?
Please help..............

HOW IS THE POINTS CALCULATION DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CIO AND CHC ?

Until we get approval why will any1 send docs to local chc.
I got my approval letter from cio so i am thinking about this.
If i get 65 points i would have been rejected by CIO only.
DOn't know why this and how this happened.

Also there was no changes made in my application.
I had sent the same application copy which i had sent to CIO.
So there is no point in thinking about changes like Language or anything.
Everything was kept the same.

CIO Sydney doesn't calculate points! Only if the fee, NOC and application is complete.

PS for the OP 1 degree at the bachelor level is 20 points not 22

Thanx for the reply PMM.
I feel good now :)
OK what should i do now to get my refund back.
Should i have to mail them or something or they will automatically mail be my money back ?
Also will they return me my IELTS results also ?
Please reply.

Hey guys...
I want to know will they give me my IELTS results back ?
Also i am planning to apply with the same IELTS.
The IELTS which i have is valid till May 2010 i.e next month.
So i don't want to waste time.
I have planned to learn french and give french exam in 2 months.
But i will not disclose french in my application.
Once i get my application successfully approved from CIO then i will also add french in my application to New Delhi to gain additional 4 points for basic french.
Does this sound good ?

1. It is unlikely that you will get your IELTs back, apply for another copy.
2. Not without a valid TEF exam you won't.

my advise would be to repeat the IELTS to try and get full 16 points.

Dear PMM,

thanx for your suggestion.
Last thing is what should i do to get my refund back ?
Or they will refund my money without me doing anything.
And what is the time frame for refund ?

You don't have to do anything to get a refund, it will automatically be returned to you via a check, usually within 4-5 months.

A BA with 14 years of education = 4

Irshad,
Repeat IELTS and get that extra 2 points that you need. As you already know that you have 65 points, you just need 2 more. It will be easier with IELTS than learning french from start. With your determination, you are going to be successful, no doubt.

Irshad

I second kris on this. I am currently enrolled in French learning program with AF. For a beginner having no french background, it is quite hard to cope up with the new language, however, it would be comparatively more easier to take IELTS again and aim for full points.
