i have asked this question before also and got different responses.
Is 6 month statement enough from the banks or do we need a special certificate on the letterhead as well.

Is there someone who just submitted 6 months statement and got cleared?

Think of it the other way - if you have the letter you dont need the statement. If your bank is not able to provide the letter, then you can provide the reasoning in the letter of explanation and attach the bank statements. Either ways is fine. I have not submitted my application yet.

I asked my bank to write a letter to state the 6 months balance and also when the account was opened. Had credit card with them and I asked them to state the amount outstanding too.

I have the required fund(a little more than that) to show as POF as FD in the bank.its there in the bank for approx 3 years ......Do i still need a bank statement along with the letter from the bank?? Please guide
