POF needed under CEC while not employed

I have a question regarding a POF under CEC.

I am planning to apply under CEC with adding my boy friend as a dependent in my application.

As for my understanding, there is no need to prove a POF under CEC category. Is this also applicable to the event that I quit my job at some point while my PR application is on process?
