Hello,
I have received my landing papers in October 2015 under the SINP Family sponsor category. I am planning to move to Canada by April 2016. I have some queries and would really appreciate if someone can give me some guidelines and help me out.

I am planning to settle in Saskatchewan but I think (correct me if I am wrong ) the province doesn't have a POE ( when flying in ) so my first choice is Pearson Airport in Toronto. I will be flying in from Pakistan its a long flight so I am planning to stay a short amount of time (about a week) in Toronto with some friends and relatives before going to my destination in Saskatchewan. I would like to know:

1. If its possible and will there be any problems at the immigration. ( I want to avoid any problem and can opt for a immediate next flight to my destination)

2. Will this effect my health insurance ( As Saskatchewan issues immediate insurance to new landing immigrants ). Does my staying in Toronto for a week will effect that?

3. What is the Immigration process at the POE and what documents will I need?

4. I am single and plan to move my household item later on (which may include furniture and jewelry etc.) how should I go about it

Thank you

1. Having a ticket taking you to SK should be good enough.

2. No, you were not settling in Ontario so it shouldn't affect anything.

3. You need your COPR and passport and an SK address for your PR card to be mailed to. You can give your relatives in SK address.

4. You need a list of goods to follow that you will give to customs. See here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border.asp and here http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/b4-eng.pdf

HI Leon,

i am reading you for quiet sometime and really appreciate your willingness to help people.
THis time i need your expert advice .

I am Manitoba PNP(with Employment restriction) and on closed WP. I stayed in manitoba for almost 1 and half years but i have to move out as my employer transferred me to ontario on an assigment.

Now i have got COPR and supposed to land shortly in Winnipeg US border.I have a permanent communication address(relative) in winnipeg which i provided to CIC and also updated them with my current residential adddress in Ontario.
Do you feel that any issues may happen during landing at POE due to my movement or the winnipeg address i will be providing for PR card as the address is a relative's one.

PLEASE HELP!

It is possible that they will ask you some questions about your assignment. Is it a temporary assignment? If it is, it would help to have a letter from your employer stating that you have been transferred and that it is a temporary assignment and an estimate of when you will be transferred back to Manitoba.
