I think it is normal. I got the same words in mycic says "You do not need a medical exam", but a few weeks after it changed to "We have requested a medical exam"

Status message of the medical exam on my cic acc has been changed. It was we will send you an instruction something like that but now it says you do not need a medical exam...like this. Any ideas about this? I'm pretty sure I won't receive a medical exam request soon because I'm a july applicant but I'm just wondering why.

It basically means the same thing unless they actually sent you a request and message with form attached. Had the same issue before. In my observation, it takes 11-12 months for MR prior to when CIC received your application. Hope this helps.

This is my timeline, I got PPR this Tuesday.

CIC received on Dec 5th, 2016
AOR:Feb,10th 2017
RPRF:April 4th, 2017
Medical:Jan,8th, 2018
Medical passed on Jan,15th, 2018
BGIP:Feb,27th,2018
PPR:Mar 6th at 21:31pm.
CIC received passport on Mar 9th(this morning today).

I will let you know when I get updates from CIC...
