Hi Guys,

My work permit is going to expire on April/2017. My SINP nomination is employer restricted. So my only option for extending work permit is apply for LMIA exempt close work permit. CIC seems very slow in progressing PNP application. I don't think my PR process will be done by April/2017. I am planning to apply for extending work permit on Jan/2017.

Now lets say, if I get laid off before January, what will be my option to extend work permit. Your response will be much appreciated.

Ya, its long waiting and frustrating....I think we can expect MR on end of Nov or early Dec... We never know. In mean time I did eMedicals and sent them through case specific enquiry... lets see what happens....

I don't want to let you down, but I doubt it. Oct and Nov applicants are getting MR nowadays. It seems about one year.

Good news is some Jan-Mar applicants already got MR, so you can be the one as well.

Hi all, I have a question about bridging work permit and hoping if any one can help.

I got my AINP nomination from Ontario (masters stream- No job offer ) on June 8th 2016 , my application for PR was received by CIC on July 12th 2016, and Im hoping to get AOR any day. (Im Inland)

My current open work permit which I got after completion of my master degree will expire on Feb 27th 2017.
I'm planning to apply for the Bridging work permit hopefully in DEC, and Im travelling home from Dec 16th to JAN 4th
here is my questions:

1- Is it ok if I apply before travelling? my current status and TRV will still be valid until FEB 2017 but is it ok if I apply and leave for 2 weeks? or is it better if I apply when I come back?

2- do I go on implied status when my current work permit expires or when I apply for a new work permit?

2- can I apply for a new TRV at the same time of applying for the bridging work permit, or do I have to wait for the permit to come first and then get the TRV.

1. Everything will go though myCIC, so it doesn't matter where you're. If I were you, I would apply it asap and before the leave. When you come back, you will be asked about the work permit expiry being to close. Then you can say you're working on extension.

2. You're in implied status when your current permit expires.

3. Sorry, I have no idea about TRV since I'm visa exempt.

Don't know how would that imply on us, just like u Hammer, I'm also done with medicals. I don't know what would they do to our applications for 16 months.

Well, they are working on clearing backlogs which make them busy to not process our files in much faster manner.

Hi guys. Today I saw that my medical status thought My Cic was changed from not needed to in process. I guess it is a good sign.
