I am Jan 8, 2016 Applicant, medical passed on Feb 24, 2017 and BG is still "not applicable". Good luck to all of us

That's so weird. I also put the birth certificate and non-criminal check for my husband ( he is permanent resident) along with my application and cic just asked for his pr card copy in Sept last year.

Yea it was a mistake. they sent me another email a few minutes later telling me to disregard it. I jumped the gun on this one. Freaked me out!

That is Insane from CIC to ask all this details at end of processing time.

Some times, it happens. One of my friend is Dec 2015 applicant; his background check changed from not applicable to in progress on last week (Apr 5th). He worked in a company, when he was in India 6 years ago. that company doesn't exist anymore. CIC is asking him, that job pay slips and tax returns. They gave him Two weeks time. He was tensed and helpless. Anything might happen anytime.

Congrats, I have a question, my BG says N/A, but last time i called CIC they told me they are doing my BG check, criminology etc... Does that mean once they are done with my BG checks they will change my status on CIC from N/A to in BG in process and make a decision right away or will it going to take another few days or weeks? Or it varies from case to case?

It varies from case to case.

Some people got PPR email before their BG status changed or exams changed to decision made

For others BG change is few days away from decision made or PPR email.

My background changed to in process, same day decision made and same day PPR email- all 3 in one day and trust me I'm very sure cos I check like 20 times in a day if not more.

I guess it depends on the officer

You should submit the Acknowledgement of Receipt email or letter you got from CIC

You should also submit your nomination letter- that is the letter of support from the province

You most likely don't need proof of meeting employer requirements and employer declaration documents since your nomination has no restrictions. I'm guessing your work permit is an open work permit

Nope bro. Still eagerly waiting for it.
I guess they will be close on Easter Monday. So hopefully next week will be ours.

Submitted it April 13. Just wanted to have an idea of when to expect passport back on average. I got BG change, DM and Passport request email on same day- April 12.
