Hi I have a friend that is one a open Work permit that expires in april
he applied PR under the Alberta PNP program with a Immigration Lawyer by the end of October

The Lawyer told him that he must wait for his AOR from his PR application in order to extend his WP, but when I read the CIC website its says he only needs the PNP letter

dos anyone has any experience with this type of case?
can he apply to extend his WP with just the PNP letter?

Thanks in advance

YES, he can still apply to extend hi WP tru PNP Support Letter. He can also apply for an OPEN WP once he receives his AOR prior to the expiry of his WP. Meaning, you will be eligible for an Open WP thru AOR if you still have a valid WP.

you have to wait for their request if canadian pcc is needed.

I am inland applicant. But I send them in advance along with my application. Both RCMP and Indian pcc.

I was just wondering why you can't send it now bcz you have got a file no and so whatever you send with all your personal information and application no should go to your file. As RCMP pcc is free I would recommend you to send it now and so if you are lucky it goes to your file before VO ask you for that which saves time.
But on other hand; if VO ask you for pcc again it doesn't do anything bad to your application. We can apply for a new RCMP pcc and send again.

If I were in your situation I would sent one. It saves time bcz I don't want my file to be put aside just bcz of a police check pending.

*** And RCMP pcc with finger prints took almost 2-3 weeks. So plan ahead

I think only Indian PCC is required one which you can either send with file or later when ask. If they feel Indian PCC is expired, they will ask again. Canadian PCC and fingerprints they ask on a case to case basis.(Optional)

Good to know. :D

I send both pcc in advance. 8)
