Hello everyone:

I thought I should share my experience at north portal border.


I drove one of my friend this morning to North portal for landing as a PR, her timeline is:

EE inland applicant, single, SK

15 June17 - File received by CIC

14Sep17 - PPR

20Sep17 - Passport sent

4Oct17 - Passport received back with COPR.


As I have asked about can a person walk to US border and come back for flagpole.

Answer reveled: Yes we can, she did walk through Canada border and about 10 mins after she walked back to Canada border.

Officer asked her few question:

1. Which category you applied for PR (Provisional or Canadian experience class)

2. They confirm your address for PR card delivery, if you want you can update your address at that time.


that's pretty much about it.

Same here, my CIC account and ECAS shows my background as not started but I called them and they said that it is in progress and that my file is in Ottawa. I am also expecting my GCMS notes soon. I will update once I receive them.

But I received a reply last week through web enquiry according to which my application is still in Sydney and as per CIC agent my security is not started yet

I applied on Sep 12. Hoping to get it tomorrow. However, last time it took longer than 30 days.
