Hi guys, I need advice.
I'm April 27 applicant. Waiting for DM/PPR but mw WP will expired for one month. Maybe I will be short for week or two.
Did I apply for extension of wp or did I apply for visitor visa?
I talk today with some immigration consultant and he ask me for extension wp 2500CAD+tax and 450CAD fees for wp.
I'm principal applicant with closed wp, my spose have owp and child visitor record.
What should I do because I know we must have legal status all the time?
All info welcome. Thanks.

$2500 on top of thw WP fee?????

You can apply for the WP yourself online. As long as you apply before your current WP you will have what is called implied status. You can continue working and going about everything under the same conditions as your current WP.

Go to the foreign workers section of this forum and I am sure you will get some answers on how to apply for the WP. You can also google work permit application in canada and application to change conditions.

$2500 is a lot to pay for someone to do the WP application for you. If you spend a few days reading up on the process I am sure you can do it yourself. My bf applied for his without the help of an imigration specialist. Also google implied status.

This consultant is trying to milk money from you. Why don't you get it? Click here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp and you will get all your information. In total it won't cost you more than $255 and you can apply yourself.

Take some time to read the information in CIC's website. Don't waste your money, just because you have it.

Thanks guys. We (my wife and I) do everything by ourself without any help (SINP, PR applications).
You can call me dummy but I can't understand how to fill Application to change conditions, extend my stay or remain in Canada as a worker because I have closed wp, my wife owp and child visitor record.

In a form "Application to change conditions, extend my stay or remain in Canada as a worker" I have 4 options:

1. A work permit with the same employer (that is for me because I have closed wp)
2. An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
3. Restoration of your status as a woker
4. Temporary resident permit

Which one I need to choose for my wife (she have owp) and which one for my child (she have visitor record)?

hmmm i though medical and criminality would have been listed for members with 18+ age.
What all is mentioned for spouse in the notes? only criminality?

Do Ppr email comes in applicant's inbox or representative's??
