I am in a similar situation since I am planning a 3 week trip as well and have no AOR yet. My plan was, if I don't have AOR by the time I leave, I won't bother informing CIC. PNP at this stage I feel does not need to know since I am not expecting them to be contacting me anymore. We receive AOR via e-mail, correct? Because if that's the case, and I get my AOR while I am overseas, I would just e-mail CIC and let them know that I am outside of Canada for vacation but planning to return soon, and will get medicals done, etc.

Just make sure you have valid status and transit visa and you should be ok.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation that could confirm/deny this?

True, you will get the AOR in e-mail and you can do medical any where in the world, there is no restriction on that.

Hello guys,

I need a experimental/intelligent advice with this.

I have PR PNP application in process and already done my medicals and e-cas received.

I didn't have to do any police certificate from back home or neither I have asked for a Canadian RCMP or anything as I was under 18 when I came to Canada and never lived anywhere else for more than 6 months.

I got a call from RCMP/CSIC asking me to come for an interview as they got some anonymous reports from someone that I may be a link to terrorism or something like that.

I went for an interview and answered all his questions he asked about my background and when I came here blablal..

Now I'm just wondering if this is normal for some applicant for PR or is just me?

Am I looking at a longer processing time for my PR? I applied May 2014, also my WP extension is on hold for about 4 months now and CIC said I can work and stuff and some verification is being done on my WP application and call back in November if I dont hear anything.

Please help me out?

Should I have never went to the interview?? I did'nt say anything untrue and I'm clean ,, so I do have faith,,, but still worried a bit!!

Please share your experience...

THANKS...

No it has nothing to do with PR application. Should not affect your PR app unless RCMP flags you as a risk which they shouldn't. Probably just routine random checks they do.

Yea I dont know how true any of that info is. There is no official announcement for CIC of it starting.
I am so itching to apply under CEC these days. Just dont want to waste another 1200-1500$.

I applied under BC PNP....I got my AOR and medical on August 25th 2014 from CIC....Does anyone have any idea of my timeline to actually getting the PR Card?
Thanks!

My 8th week wait is coming up on Monday for a AOR from the CIC.
AINP skilled trade nominated. Mine arrived June 21st at Sydney.

Quality Assurance...something CIC is being rumoured to be doing on Ontario PNP applicants which is slowing things down by a lot. Has been over 3 months for some of us with no AOR.

I will be completing 4 months next weekend. Looks to me like they intend to drive processing time to whats posted on cic - 17 months!!
I think CEC will be faster. 2000 CAD down the drain.

I wanted to ask this question. Why does cic website say 17 months based on 80% of applications from April 2013 to March 2014. Did it really take that long for last year applicants; meaning none have got it?

@MK

Thank you for your response.

Is there anyone else who can comment on this??

Thanks.

I always took that number as the average of all pnp applications. Sometimes applications include family members residing in different countries which takes longer to process. But yes, it sucks to be us. 4 months since I sent it in 5 days.

Ah i see. never thought of that. But what has been the average time for a single or usual applicant in canada from pnp job offer or masters stream? is it like 8 to 9 months to a year?
