Hi there,
I’m seeking advice on maintaining my worker status in Canada while exploring my PR options. My employer is willing to help me with my PNP application by providing supporting documentation for PNP and LMIA-exempt work permit. My PGWP (open) is expiring in 10 months and I’m concerned that I will not receive my PR before its expiry. What’s the best scenario in my case:
- Get an LMIA-exempt work permit. Employer is willing. Any idea how long it takes and when exactly I’ll be eligible to apply for it? Or is it entirely up to the employer to execute?
- Do I need to apply for a PNP in order to get an LMIA-exempt work permit?
- Can I apply for my PR through CEC if I’ve an LMIA-exempt work permit. Or do I have to apply for PNP?
Thank you!
