Hi fellows,

Here is my Landing Experience.

So before getting on my Luftanza flight frm New Delhi, I had an immigration check at airport, Indian immigration officer asked for my passport and landing papers, after which he stamped a date of departure on my passport.
On landing Toronto Pearson international airport, I reached the customs office where I handed over the Form ( this customs form was handed over in flight about 1 hour before landing). Customs officer greeted me with a smiling face and asked me about any luggage, furniture is following me via shipment or courier, for which I gave them my obvious NO. I told them that I have came up with 2 checked in luggages only. Then they stamped an arrival stamp on my passport and directed me towards immigration office where I had to wait hardly for a minute. An immigration officer asked me to come to his table where he asked me to hand over passport and landing papers ( PR confirmation letter, receipt of RPRF & letter from CHC-ND).
He asked me how much cash I have and where we are going to live. On that I told him my address in Saskatoon ( Which was actually my friend's home). After that he handed me over a copy of landing papers with his signatures and said "welcome to Canada" he also said that I would get my PR card within 4 days to 4 months.....lol.
After that I collected my luggage bag and got on my next flight to Saskatoon.

Note: Plz keep your Education documents, job experience docs etc along with your landing papers in your HANDY BAG which you are going to keep with you in your flight, don't put them in your luggage bag.

Always hand over the passport wide open showing the immigrant visa whenever you are asked to show the same by any Indian or Canadian immigration officer.

hi everyone....how much cash do we need to take with ourselves while landing?...is there any specific amount or any minimum amount that we have to take with ourselves?..

congrates gst.... :)

@GST...the amount that showed at immigration ... in what mode u took along with u ? In cash ...draft...or account statement ??

Hi,

I think the max you can take from india as per RBI guidelines is 5000 US$ per person.
You can take money with you via travellers card or travellers cheque. I would suggest travellers card by ICICI. Its easy convenient and not as expensive as travellers cheque. Beyond that you can carry some money in the form of cash also.
While entering canada if you are taking more than 10,000 CAD in cash then you have to declare it to customs.

Plz keep your recepts with you in regard to money conversion from a forex dealer and also for Travellers card. Any customs officer in india or canada could ask for those.

Hey bro,
That's a great news. Now you should get your passport within 15 days (By 10 May 2012). Start packing your bags:)
RPRF receipt would be sent by CHC- New Delhi to you along with landing papers.
See ya in Saskatchewan !

Take care

Hi,

First thing I would suggest is that don't send your passport from Canada by mail or courier, you have to go personally to India and courier it from your home town or city. It's Illegal to send passport from abroad to India via mail or courier. Beyond that it's illegal to send passport from India to abroad also. No courier company in India would get ready to send your passport. In that case your passport would get stuck in India.
There are numerous stories on canadavisa forums in which people by mistake have sent their passports from Canada and it has not came back yet. Passport and the individual should always be on same land.

It would take almost 2 and half months to show DM on your profile and further 15 days approx to get your passport back

Thanx
