Ofonzo,

you were correct bruv. PPR came in last week, already mailed out to ACC-VO to be delivered within a day or two. All that's left now is waiting and praying and hoping that they send it back quick quick so man can move forward with whatever's left.

Hopefully this is the end of a long journey!

My people, praise be to GOD, Accra VO sent us the PPR yesterday evening. Our medicals were done at Asaju in December 2012.
This has been a long journey that started in October 2007. I am one of the backlog applicants that got selected for the FSW backlog reduction pilot. It is a miracle, that has God's hands written all over it. To qualify for the pilot, the provinces had to select from the FSW database, applicants who indicated that province as their destination and who were professionals in areas were skills shortages were being experienced in the province.
The other hurdles included getting a letter from the professional body in the province to write a referral of sorts and then the ielts. The Tory long but I will catalogue God's faithfulness in another post.

My people, the gates have been open, I hear the PPRs coming.

BeK, Bukonla na una own dey come next! No shaking!!

Ofonzo
Dear Ofonzo,

How long did your medical took before the result was sent by Asaju? I understand that medical can be done & results ready within a very short time. Which Hospital among the nominated Hospitals in Lagos, Abuja & Port Harcourt is faster?

All:
Finally picked up the maple leaf at Accra, after such a long wait (6years!), God is awesome. I feel so relieved.
Thanks to everyone on this forum. May your MRs and PPRs begin to rain down in Jesus name.

Solomon, I did the medicals in December but didn't see any. Change in my Ecas till this month. I didn't keep a tab with Asaju but from my medical validity is till February 2014. So from physical examination to medical approval it's two months.
Hope this helps.

Below is the full gist of my Accra experience:

Pre-Accra Gist- ikemba on the Naija FSW gave me a heads up that yellow fever card was important for entry into Accra, so on saturday I went to the international airport to get a yellow fever immunization card from the airport hospital. Don't patronize touts o, go to the airport clinic, they will give you the real deal for 500bucks.At Accra Kotoka airport, they have health officials who will scrutinize passengers for yellow fever cards. If you don't have the card, I am told you will be given the injection and it would cost you more.

Departure- Departed Lagos enroute Accra on the 5 pm arik flight, arrived kotoka airport at 5pm Accra time. Went past airport health officials and customs and voila hello Accra. I went to the tourist information desk and I was introduced to Courage, who arranged a hotel from me in east Legon, the cabbie did a shake down on me and collected 20cedis from me, I checked into the hotel and tried to locate the Buka for Nigerian cuisine. By the time we got there the joint was closed, I managed to grab some food at a nearby joint. Went back to the hotel and then caught some sleep.

Too be continued... ;D

Arrival at Canadian High commission- The night before, the cab driver told me that we needed to get out of east legon very early to beat the rush hour, so we set out very early the next day for the Canadian High Commission. By 6:30am, we had arrived the high commission and there were already two people on the queue. The 1st person on the queue turned out to be a PR applicant from Nigeria ( a shadow forumite), soon the queue began to swell as people began to come, we had to wait till 7:45 when the gates were opened and we began to file in. The consular officer just collected our passports with passport photographs and the PPR letter and asked me to come back at 2pm. I was surprised that she didn't ask for the IMM008 form that was included in my PPR as something to bring. Femoo was told to bring his Police Certificate in his PPR, don't know if they collected it from him.
We spent the waiting period catching breakfast at a nice lounge in the neighborhood of the high commission. After breakfast it was off to Osu to buy somethings. We killed some time off at Papaye sipping some juice and bottles of water. Femo was excellent company. We traded war stories on the hurdles we had to cross to get to PPR stage.at 1:30pm we decided to head back to the high commission. Hmm! We entered a cab that took us to independence square instead of independence avenue, time was running out.Femo and I were getting frantic. Then we ran into heavy traffice"Haba, which kin wishi be this?". We eventually arrived the high commission at 2:15pm sweating like Christmas goat.
After another wait of about 1-1/2hours , the consular officer began to call out names, the first batch name no dey, Femoo name dey. The second batch was called my name didn't turn up. I was thinking several things; did I use the right passport size and all that?. Just when I was about to conclude a denial was in the offing, my name was called. I picked up the passports with Visa issued and Femoo and I made a run for the airport. We arrived Kotoka airport with enough time to catch the air flight back to Lagos.

And so the Lord did it for us, after 6 long years of anxiety. All Glory to His name. What an amazing God.
