Hi Guys,

What is the prospect of PMP Certificate in Canada?
What is the Salary range for a starter?
Got qualification yesterday to support my MBA Finance in Canadian labour market
Kindly advise pls on what else i can add to the above.

Dear F2

I am not sure about PMP along with MBA Finance but I had lot of discussion regarding PMP with IT Manager background and response from Canadian contacts was very luke warm

Thanks Ankit,i believe evry industry requires a PM, even govt parastatals.
The qualification is just to add to my marketability, any job as a BDM OR Business analyst
will be most welcome.
Any advise pls?

My contact (who is CISSP +PMP) informed me that there were many with thse certs who are unemployed so his opinion was that a new immigrant w/o Canadian experience may not benift from the PMP certification.

can u ask ur contact to shed some light on wht. sort of technologies r in demand in canada I.T market ???

I am in touch with few professional via linked in. These guys are from diiferent IT backgroud. The feeling I get after talking to them is that even though Canada has opened immigration for IT managers there is little scope of finding management jobs for immigrants w/o Candian experience.

Best bet for IT would be most technical jobs like development, sys admin, and testing is my understanding after talking to these professionals

I'm PMP certified and my analysis of Canada market suggest that PMP certification is good for immigration application or hanging on the office wall but is worthless in helping you find a job let alone assist in career.

Am PMP certified also but in the construction/built environment area. I sincerely hope this certification wouldn't be disregarded by employers or businesses during one's search for a suitable job. 'Cause how else do they expect people to find jobs if all our international certifications are of no effect.

We shall surely find a way guys. 8)
