PMM , I have a schedule interview in Mexico city on June 25th. my attorney gave me a few possible questions to respond regarding the relationship with my wife. I was illegal in the US for almost 7 yrs.

Can immigration officer ask me questions about my illegal stay in the US ? how I was able to work illegally in the US ? why was I illegal and went back illegally into the us after being removed from the country ?

Or the questions are primally and focus on our relationship and husband / wife ? We got married on August 30th 2008 been living together but since i dont have a social insurance number , the list of joint documents is very small. we do have photos taken on events with her family.

would an affidavit from her sister( she lives with us ) help to make proof of marriage stronger ? her brother and wife ? lease agreement ? letter from our landlord?

or all this would be suspicious an may open a can of questions ?

Please help

I can not help you unfortunately , but I want to wish you luck !

I know how you feel. As you know my boyfreind and I are in the same exact situation as yours and I know how this is all nerve racking as answers are difficult to find since not so many people have similar situation. I have a felling that they might investigate a bit more that usually but I think in the end everything will work out. I think the best is to be open and to explain your situation to them and the reaons you did what you did back then.

Good luck, and please let me know how your case evolves. I would really appreciate if you can share your experience with us, so we can also prepare ourselves in the future.

1, Most of the questions should be on the relationship and how well you know your spouse. The Officer may question your stay in the US, basically they can ask any question that they wish.
2. It is really too late to add more evidence to your co-habitation, you should have done this when you applied. Just go to the interview, answer the questions truthfully. If you don't know the answer, say you don't know, don't guess, that opens up the real can of worms if you are wrong.

I too am in a similar situation, except I'm the PR and my fiancee (we're going to apply when we're married) is my sponsor. He was illegal in the US. I'm hoping this will help our situation a little more, since it's not me who was doing this. But we are a little confused ourselves on how to handle this situation, especially with his previous work history. (I plan on making a thread on that one later!!)

Best of luck to you. From what I've gathered, they shouldn't mind too much, since this was in another country, and not Canada. There is a question on the forms though that asks if you were ever ordered removed. Did you answer that truthfully? As long as you did, you're better off in that way too.

Re: PMM , questions about interview please help update

PMM, on the instructions for the interview is asking to make an envelope with proof of relationship along with new documents. there were documents that we didnt had before , like joint accounts, a new lease agreement, etc , new photos with more friends and family. whats your advice on it ?

If they are willing to accept further evidence, take everything you have. As you said before, you can get affidavits. Appears that you got lucky in that the CHC is willing to accept more evidence at the interview.

Is it ok to send more evidence since i have added him on almost everything related to home bills and beneficiary as well or should I wait until we know if he will be asked for an interview.
Also can you kindly confirm how long do they give you to prepare yourself for an interview. Month, days,
